In 2009 I was granted an absolute divorce. I moved out of the property that we own in Mecklenburg because I wasn’t able to afford the payments. At the time we were co parenting my son and since that was going well I believed my ex when he promised he would refinance the home and get my name off the home.
It has been 12 years of me asking him to refinance. I asked him recently about the refinance and he explained that he did a loan modification and because of this he will have to pay a lot of money to refinance the home and he doesn’t have the fees and his credit score is below 620.
I called the mortgage company and requested a copy of the loan modification. My ex forged my name on the modification loan. When I asked him how he did that he said he knew the notary person.
I now want to sell the home but he doesn’t want to sell.
What steps do I need to take to pursue selling the home?
