in sept.I had a roof leak which the condo is responsible for. It caused flooding to my kitchen and foyer and garage. the water came down from the roof between the concrete block and the sheet rock out from under the baseboard.Contacted the hoa. The president said to go through your insurance co. and then contact him which i did.The hoa fixed the roof. The leak made mold. Two walls had to be taken down plus a small portion of ceiling. My insurance company paid for their portion of the repairs, plus remediation and the hoa is responsible for the build back which includes sheet rock, insulation, furring strips and baseboard. This is based on FLA condominium law 718. When i was done with my insurance i contacted the hoa gave them a estimate heard nothing for a ,week, send a certified a letter plus a copy of the estimate to the hoa. On Dec. 06,2021 We had the walls fixed using my money. In December i called the president for a update. He said i cut the check and will forward. Two days later Dec.12th the Treasurer came over with a $300 check. He asked for pictures. My wife forwarded to him plus a video. Since Sept. no one from the board or any representative come over. The check was for the materials. On Dec.15th I met with the new treasurer who said the estimate was to high we are not paying for it plus the taping is not included. I said we just want you to pay your portion of the estimate (sheet rock, furring strips, insulation, baseboard,) as original structure (718). The treasurer works for the hoa's insurance co. We agreed she would call me the next day. The day came and she asked for the remediation pictures, what my insurance company paid for.
