I need to know my rights to fight to keep my son living w me against DHS taking him after recently been charged w possession of drugs but not formally charged yet. I plan on fighting as well since I am innocent. I have not ever been in trouble before. I was charged w possession of drugs after I was arrested for driving after revocation. I was in jail bailing out when i found out about this charge. The officer went back to my car after he put me in jail. My 2 boys and boyfriend were waiting on his mom to show up to take my car- my boyfriend has no license. The officer said when he got there my boyfriend was sleeping and he seen a bag or wallet on his lap. After knocking on the window he asked what was in it and my boyfriend opened it and the officer seb drugs. My boyfriend supposedly said the drugs were mine. He says he didn't say that either. Upon this he found a pipe in his shirt pocket. He was arrested and charged w possession as well
A criminal defense lawyer is a lawyer (mostly barristers) specializing in the defense of individuals and companies charged with criminal activity. Some criminal defense lawyers are privately retained, while others are employed by the various jurisdictions with criminal courts for appointment to represent indigent persons; the latter are generally called public defenders. The terminology is imprecise because each jurisdiction may have different practices with various levels of input from state and federal law or consent decrees. Some jurisdictions use a rotating system of appointments with judges appointing a private practice attorney or firm for each case. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_defense_lawyer
