A close friend (father figure) of 36 years, who has no immediate relative and who apparently has no power of attorney paperwork had either a stroke or mini seizures, the hospital can not make up it's mind which it is, has been in the hospital now for a week. I've been trying to work with them so that we can get POA to be able to pay his bills as they come in and make the necessary decision as to where he goes next. I have contacted his other long-time friends, co-workers, neighbors, financial planner and even his mother's lawyer and former neighbor, who has retired in Florida. We are all in agreement as to what needs to be done but I don't know who they right lawyer would be to do this. I have 3 suggestions Steve Gousouzian (former lawyer recommended), Joe Corpora (financial planner suggested) or Keene Jabbour (my family lawyer).
I can't stand just watching him sit in Easton Hospital doing nothing. Last night one of his medications fell on the floor and the nurse picked it up and gave it to him while 2 of us were sitting right there. Something has to be done. Right now our hands are tied.
