In March of 2015 we purchased a home security system from Safety 1st Alarms out of Lafayette La with the monitoring to be done by Acadian Total Security. Within a year we were having trouble with some of the equipment and contacted Safety 1st by phone and email and never got replies. We found out later that the business had closed down. We also found out that Acadian was no longer the monitoring company but the contract had been sold several times. The breach of contract was that Acadian, nor any subsequent monitoring company, had ever given us the "decals, yard signs, and other signs" that were promised in the contract. Safety 1st breached their part of the contract by not repairing the equipment. So in effect, we have been paying monitoring fees for nothing so I sent Safe Home Security a certified letter in February of 2019 cancelling the contract for breach of contract but they disagree and say that they have been monitoring the system but there is no system to monitor because it quit working and we had no idea who even had the contract after Acadian sold it.
