Analyzing Domestic Violence Charges in Celina, Ohio

Navigating the complexities of domestic violence charges can be daunting, especially if one is unfamiliar with the legal system. In Ohio, domestic violence charges are taken very seriously and carry significant consequences. In your specific situation, given that it involves charges under MSC 2919.25 (Domestic Violence) and MSC 2905.03 (Unlawful Restraint), a thorough understanding of the statutes and potential outcomes is crucial.

Relevant Ohio Statutes

  • MSC 2919.25 - Domestic Violence
  • MSC 2905.03 - Unlawful Restraint

For an in-depth look at these statutes, I'd recommend visiting the official Ohio Revised Code website.

Potential Solutions and Recommendations

Considering it's your first-time offense, and you've had minimal previous encounters with the law, it's feasible that your attorney might negotiate a plea deal. These deals can range from lesser charges to probation, counseling, community service, or a combination thereof. It's also possible, in some situations, for charges to be dismissed entirely, especially if there are inconsistencies in the accuser's account.

However, it's imperative to consult with a criminal defense lawyer in your area to gauge the specifics of your case. Not only will they help you understand the legal implications but also guide you in building a robust defense strategy.

Legal Service Pricing in Celina, Ohio

Service Average Cost
Initial Consultation $150 - $300

The aforementioned prices are approximations and can vary based on the complexity of the case, the attorney's experience, and other variables. Celina, being a smaller city, might offer rates slightly below those of larger metropolitan areas. It's also possible for some attorneys to offer sliding-scale fees based on income.
