I'm a Texas resident.  Received a DUI on September 6th. Court date is January 20th. My family and I were camping at Ft Cobb State Park, for the holiday weekend. I choose to drink on Sunday evening and through the night. We broke camp after a few hours of sleep. I decided to drive to the nearest store. Was pulled over in the park. I need a defense attorney. Was contacted by Intoxalock to put a device on my car. Was told I needed a State ID/License. How can I do that, being a resident of Texas. I was arrested that day. Went to court the next day, and was bonded out.

A criminal defense lawyer is a lawyer (mostly barristers) specializing in the defense of individuals and companies charged with criminal activity. Some criminal defense lawyers are privately retained, while others are employed by the various jurisdictions with criminal courts for appointment to represent indigent persons; the latter are generally called public defenders. The terminology is imprecise because each jurisdiction may have different practices with various levels of input from state and federal law or consent decrees. Some jurisdictions use a rotating system of appointments with judges appointing a private practice attorney or firm for each case. Source:
