I was temporarily laid off, due to Pandemic, from breakfast attendant at Hotel. Filed for unemployment. Received unemployment and started looking for temp to perm work. Employer that laid me off informed me it would be permanent. I continued to look for work, and was offered 4 positions. I chose one position that I felt I could do not just temporary but long term. After filling out forms online, as well as watching a video, I received my schedule online. I called the immediate supervisor, to ask if I could have 1 week delay in starting. The reason is I am learning from the news at that time, April 2020, Covid 19 remains on cardboard and metal surfaces for hours. I explained I am starting to get panicky about going to this job. She chuckled and asked me to send her an email with my request. So I did. I did not hear back from her for 2 days. So I sent her an email letting her know I am not taking that position. In the meantime I have been cut off from unemployment after providing substantial information explaining my decision. I am working with an investigator from Unemployment and am currently waiting for a decision. My question is, it states if you are in fear of going to public places your eligible for unemployment. I also am in the hospitality industry, so I sought work, there was no other work to look for accept warehouse and essential work. I am not sure if I need a lawyer.
