I was accused of flashing a revolver at my neighbor during and argument that resulted from me asking them to pick up their dog that was unleashed outside as i was exiting the building with my kids(4, 6). They cursed me out, made a false police report, which then caused officers about 7 to arrive at my door, they came and left. i was not arrested on that day, but 1 month and 2 weeks an arrest warrant was issued to arrest me, i turned myself in. I didn't take any deals offered to me by the DA. The neighbors that made the accusation, had signed a statement with the DA, however one of them had forged his name, instead of signing his last name, he signed his wife's last name. The case is set for pre-trial conference. There are no cameras in or in front of my building, there was never a search warrant executed, no 911 call made by accused. Can I have this case dismissed, and file an order of protection against neighbors for harassment and false accusation?
A criminal defense lawyer is a lawyer (mostly barristers) specializing in the defense of individuals and companies charged with criminal activity. Some criminal defense lawyers are privately retained, while others are employed by the various jurisdictions with criminal courts for appointment to represent indigent persons; the latter are generally called public defenders. The terminology is imprecise because each jurisdiction may have different practices with various levels of input from state and federal law or consent decrees. Some jurisdictions use a rotating system of appointments with judges appointing a private practice attorney or firm for each case. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_defense_lawyer
