Read in it's entirety:
Jason baltz talked such a good game on the phone. He told us about how he defended the high profile case in Ozaukee county for the man accused of giving fake covid shots. He also talked about addiction as if he was knowledgeable. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review (I'm an avid google reviewer and literally have left maybe but it's clear based off his good reviews that he picks and chooses who he has time for. If you're willing to take a plea deal that you don't want- he's a great attorney because he only has to speak to the district attorney for a limited amount times. However, when you do not agree with the plea deal and want someone in your corner to FIGHT for you… based off my experience, this won't happen. We had limited contact with Mr Baltz… we would hear from him the DAY before court. I would text him and ask him to please speak with the district attorney BEFORE the day of court like he'd been doing and he would tell me that he would.. but then never would. We never had a chance to receive a better plea deal because the district attorney was only spoken through EMAIL. Two court dates ago…I kid you not… he was frantically walking around the courthouse trying you find the district attorney so he could talk about my husband's case!! Are you serious?! You can't present someone with a multitude of evidence over email or quickly before court, of the work that has been done since the commission of the crime which shows someone is a better person and ensures the mistake doesn't happen again. Jason never even formally met with my husband to talk to him about his life and get to know him. At the second court date he actually said something about my husband that wasn't even true (nothing bad) but the point is that he didn't know my husband at all and didn't care to get to know him. It's almost as if he agreed with the offer the district attorney was giving!
When we went to court today, he came prepared with all my husband's paperwork (discovery, police report…etc) all on a disk. We hadn't even fired him yet but he came to court prepared to be fired. That's crazy to me. And it just shows that he knew he didn't do anything and knew he was bound to be fired.
All we got out of this was a loss of nearly $6000. He had no cares in the world about it. I said something to him after court about taking our money and doing nothing and he told me "to have a nice day". Have a nice day?! Must feel great to get money from vulnerable people and then just screw them over. Now we have to go pay for another attorney and spend probably the same amount of money. I'm not angry and writing this review (I know it sounds like it)…rather, I'm DEVASTATED and writing this review. Be cautious of who you hire! I feel like our money was basically stolen! It's a terrible feeling.
Jason, I hope you feel satisfied that you gained money for you and your family for doing nothing…while we lost money and are preparing to lose more for our family.
EDIT TO ADD: We hired a new attorney. We found out that Jason did ZERO work. LIED and said he sent stuff to the district attorney and it was never sent. We're livid the amount of money we wasted on this man. It's almost as of he agreed with the district attorney my husband should get the plea that was offered! I have no idea how an attorney can get away with doing this. After all is said and done, between the two of them, we will have spent at least $10,000 and if not more it makes me sick to my stomach. At least we have a great attorney now ... Christian Thomas. He talked to my husband more in one day than Jason spoke to us the entire time he was our attorney. Again, makes me sick to my stomach.
