I thought that Alex was gonna be Great! The consultation went well and even though he was 500 dollars more then the other 2 offices I called I thought it was worth it. I was Wrong. After the consultation he never responded to my messages or calls. I saw him only the day of court about 10 minutes before it started. He didn't do Anything but get me into court. The other people with No hired attorney did better than Alex!! Save your money and go somewhere else!

When we first met with Alex I asked about his retainer because that's how I thought it works. I had called around and decided I would go to Chestnut. At the consultation after I asked about retainer he told me 2000. I understood that if more time was used then I would pay more or if not all time was used it would be given back at the end. Alex never said that 2000 was the agreed total cost of everything. He only said it to me after I asked for a itemized receipt. The first time I text and asked him he didn't acknowledge me. Then after asking 3 times he said he was working on it but not all hours were included and that it didn't matter because we agreed on a set price. My husband nor myself hear him say that because he didn't.  Also when we got to court the last time while I'm outside the court room like you have to do until they call your name. They called out my name and my lawyer and the other party had already been talking in the courtroom. My mother said it was conflict if interest because he was so friendly with them and just agreed to what they wanted. They didn't even Hite a lawyer and they absolutely represented themselves better then Alex did me. He charged me for things he didn't do. Like reviewing my paperwork. He never reviewed it. He looked at it for the first time as he was reading it to the court. He didn't even know what hevwasreading because we never went over anything. He charged 20 minutes each time he said I didn't answer but when I text or called he never answered or call back. I would have been better off speaking for myself. I hired him because I thought he would help me fight for my daughter. Instead he got 2000 and then took 2 vacations and never answered the phone or prepared for one minute before court. He knows that he didn't do 2000 dollars worth of work. He absolutely knows it. It doesn't bother him to take make someone he's gonna fight with them but he takes your money and you don't hear from him. He never calls back and makes you feel like your below him. I'm not and just beche is a lawyer he gets away with it. I just want people to know.

We never saw or signed any paperwork with Mr. Chestnut. It was only verbal. I can provide my phone records to show texts and calls. I also have the itemized receipt that he sent which is also a joke. We should have just represented ourselves. The other party wasn't even trying to fight us because in court they said what they wanted us to do and my lawyer just agreed. It was a total joke. He didn't even meet with me before court to go over all the information he had me get. He looked at it for the first time in court and wasn't even prepared to present the information. He skimmed through it like it didn't matter. The worst part is that he knows he lied to my husband and I and basically took our money. He charged me for things on itemized recthat he didn't do. He also said he left some things out because of the agreement we had to pay 2000 total. I still should have been able to get a itemized receipt when I asked for it.
