I am looking for a lawyer to represent my nephew in a divorce case. The family home is in Bethel, VT and he is currently staying with his sister in Wilder VT. This will be a contested case since his wife expects to get pretty much his whole salary with child support and alimony and she even wants sole legal custody to prevent the kids from seeing his family. There is no reason of course except that she does not like his family. So suffice it to say this will be difficult or at least it looks that way right now. She can not afford to keep the house. He wants to take back the house and he wants 50/50 custody. I want to find a lawyer that will be honest with him and not creating false expectations and drag this out. I say that because I have seen this happen with friends cases. I think he should have just as much right to custody of his children as the mother but you know what the judge will rule given the details of the case. That's were your expertise is the most valuable. My goal for him to to come out of this and still have a life to live and not be rolled over with huge alimony in addition to child support. I want him to still be able to be with his children. I'm looking for someone to fight for him but to be honest enough to not get him into a fight he can not win. I don't think he is asking for more then he should but I don't know Vermont courts or the judges but you do. If you are interested in the case could you tell me a little about your fee structure? And if you are available next week after 3pm to meet with my nephew for an initial consultation. Please email at bechtol@comcast.net
